We’ve teamed up with the brilliant bunch over at Monkeyboard Coffee, and for the past six months, we’ve been working on something a little wild… and a lot delicious.
At first, we weren’t sure if this would work – coffee infused with ash and olive oil? Yep, we were sceptical too. But now? We can’t believe we didn’t try it sooner. Turns out, the ash tree and olive tree are botanical cousins, and both are packed with natural benefits. We’ve been exploring ways to bring ash into everyday diets for years, and once we realised olive trees are also under threat – just like the ash – we knew we had to do something meaningful (and tasty).
That’s when Monkeyboard Coffee came on board with a bold idea: what if we used our ash tree-infused oil in the coffee roasting process? No word of a lie, we said a firm no at first. But curiosity got the better of us. We did our homework, explored other roasting methods, and eventually gave the Monkeyboard team the green light to start experimenting.
Fast-forward six months and… we’ve brewed up something we absolutely love.
Monkeyboard Coffee, based in South Liverpool, are total pros at what they do. They roast in small batches, work directly with farmers, and always chase bold, flavourful profiles – from rare microlots to creative blends. Their passion for quality, sustainability, and traceability mirrors our own, and every request we’ve thrown their way has been met with nothing but enthusiasm and craft.
